Bowl for Kids’ Sake: Midnight Bowl Poster Contest

Thursday, January 19th, 2012

For more than 40 years, Bowl for Kids’ Sake has supported Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies throughout the country, serving as their premier fundraising “Thank You” party. After months of raising awareness and funds, our local agencies thank their volunteers with a Bowl for Kids’ Sake party at their local bowling center. This year, Bowl for Kids’ Sake will be held at Latitude 30, the premier bowling alley of Jacksonville. This year also is the first ever Midnight Bowl, intended to draw a younger crowd to participate. Midnight Bowl will help raise money to ensure the continuation of supportive adult mentoring into the lives of every child in Northeast Florida who would benefit from having a Big Brother or Big Sister. AAF-Jacksonville and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida are partnering up to make this possible.

The Challenge

Design a poster to make an impact. AAF-Jacksonville and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida have teamed up this year to promote their Bowl For Kids’ Sake: Midnight Bowl, a fundraiser for the continued mentoring of children within the Jacksonville community. This year Bowl for Kids’ Sake will be held at Latitude 30 and will also offer its first ever Midnight Bowl to draw a younger crowd to participate. To aid in Big Brothers Big Sisters’ efforts in making it a successful event, AAF-Jacksonville is lending a hand, and calling all designers — novice to pro — to design their Midnight Bowl poster for 2012.

Eligibility

Everyone is encouraged to participate! All we ask is that each composition be original. They can’t infringe the publicity or privacy rights of any individual, living or deceased, or otherwise impinge upon any person’s personal or proprietary rights. Guidelines & Materials

Nominations for Silver Medal Award

About the Silver Medal Award

The American Advertising Federation’s Silver Medal Award Program was established in 1959 to recognize men and women who have made outstanding contributions to advertising and who have been active in furthering the industry’s standards, creative excellence and responsibility in areas of social concern. Annually, AAF member clubs bestow this honor upon outstanding members of the local advertising community.

For many local clubs, awarding the AAF Silver Medal is the highlight of their year. It enhances the image of advertising by recognizing a locally well-known person for their advertising and community involvement.

Silver Medal recipients are selected by a panel of judges from each local club. Judges use the following criteria when making their selections:

Contribution to His/Her Company – The recipient must have achieved success in one of the following areas of work: advertising agency, advertiser, media or advertising service

Creative Ability – The recipient must have shown a consistent, high degree of original thinking in their field.
